Sirius

A failed attempt to get a star trail, the moon and a too wide aperture setting contributed to the overexposed scene. I posted as the scene exhibits some interest, you tell me.

Wow! I like it especially in black and white. Looks more like UFOS to me smile

The kind of experiments that I like. The moon was way to bright the last week or so, I agree - not fit for trails. I agree about the aperture as well.
It does bring another possibility to the fore. Using the moonlight to take landscape pictures in b&w. In this picture the moonlit stone surfaces contrasts in an excellent way with the non-lit sides. I can imagine taking pictures of buildings unlit by anything but the moon.
Rory Ingle: Its amazing the long exposure allows for the almost daylight scenes, will experiment further when I get the time one day smile

I like it. Its certainly far better than I'd ever do. I've never even go to see such an event - always too damned cloudy here!
Rory Ingle: he he come one not always cloudy I have seen amazing star trails done against castles and the likes and anybody can do them however be warned not good for the camera CCD (burn out can occur), so rather do it with a film camera. PS I didnt take my own advice, but then again I didnt go beyond 10 mins
